]]>Art in the streets or sidewalk art has been earning a lot of media attention over the last decade or so thanks to the likes of Banksy and other groundbreaking graffiti artists who stepped up their game by moving from old school graffiti into politically and socially inspired stencil art and evolved forms of throw up graffiti.

These talented artists have begun the great work of turning our streets into the modern museum of contemporary art and our cities into a street art utopia with their graffiti lettering, 3D street art and efforts to redefine graffiti in our times of change.

Graffiti has arguably been around since man was first smacking beasts on the head with wooden clubs and etching their primitive doodles onto the walls of their caves, much like modern graffiti taggers whos street art ranges from basic scribbles to intricate and fantastic bubble graffiti and impressive characters and graffiti words often spanning the alphabet on huge walls and buildings.

Street art brings in my opinion a massive creative streak and vibrant flair through an otherwise run down and dingy urban playground, and of all the artists of the world street artists have a massive draw to me and I love to shoot graffiti art pictures on my travels.

]]>Cityscapes often surround us on a day to day basis and it is very easy to miss the sometimes unique and quirky beauty of a city skyline at sunset or in the deep of night, with the cityscape apartments lit up often being a great opportunity for taking great photographs.

As a photographer I try to get out in London and any city I visit to capture photos of the cityscape at night and pictures of people of the world who inhabit the cityscapes,

]]>Portraiture is a very mixed bag of tricks and causes one of the biggest artistic divides with portrait photographers and portrait artists, many of whom have their own personal take on picture to portrait creative photography, some focussing on self portrait photography, portraits of people, hdr portraits, family portraits right the way through to portraits of hands and portraits of feet.

Many artists portraits are drawn to a specific type or portraiture and will work their whole lives on man portraits, woman portraits and target portraits of their own material and enjoyment.

As a portrait artist I work closely with my models and subjects to capture what I see as their essence on film whilst at the same time bringing out the incredible textures and details of their skin through methods such as HDR (High Dynamic Range) and heavily contrasted black and white portraits which look great as a canvas portrait.

There are many innovative portrait artists out there who strive to break their portrait photography into the national portrait gallery and other portrait gallerys in London, my online portraits are purely my own vision of the people I have had the pleasure to work with over the years and are often raw and gritty sometimes shot as landscape portraits and occasionally self portraits where I have wished to experiment with something.

I love to picture people as silhouette portraits with a light cast behind them, the light being their personal background and their scars and skin texture their trodden path through life, much of my portrait photography will focus on these details being apparent and retouching is often discarded in favour of bringing out these detail as a focal point.

]]>Ninjaprints started developing an interest in architecture over recent years as should become apparent if you spend the time browsing all of our artwork sales galleries and image libraries, it has been around for millennia with ancient architecture from the Greeks and the classical architecture we have been building our own brutalist architecture around for hundreds of years.

Travelling through Greece, Prague, France and London shows many different forms of neoclassical architecture wrapped in vernacular architecture and renaissance architecture with our own modern developments built on top and around these buildings that have sometimes been standing for hundreds of years, it really is quite fascinating and virtually impossible to avoid architecture of some description, it even pops up out in the wild and on coastal areas forgotten since WW2 and beyond.

Our image libraries contain a number of images from across Europe and the royal college of architects themselves would be pleased to see some of these ancient structures pictured for others to enjoy and we hope to be rapidly expanding this section of www.ninjaprints.com in the near future!

]]>Landscapes surround us wherever we are and whatever we are doing and can make up some of the most beautiful photos of the world and most inspirational photography there is.

Vintage photographers took some striking photographs of luminous landscapes, black and white landscapes creating some beautiful photography pictures. Popular photography took taking pictures of the outdoors to new and exciting levels.

Outdoor photography is like still life photography in many ways, everything is there staged ready for the shoot and the photographer techniques used are often very similar, setting up and framing the shot against the set in front of you, its not quite diy photography but there is nothing stopping you experimenting with custom equipment and photos techniques.

Landscapes allow for some really creative photography to take place, with sweeping vistas, cloud cover, mountains and misty forests coupled with lakes and wildlife going about its business there is never a shortage of things to point the camera at.

Ninjaprints take a special joy in photographing landscapes and vistas around Europe and the UK and hopes that our artwork sales galleries have something for everyone, black and white landscapes, the gorgeous colour photography of Edale in the Autumn, rivers, lakes and valleys.

I have been inspired since I was a child by the likes of the BBC Wildlife team and built a massive passion starting with amateur photography whilst working as a conservation officer at London Zoo some years ago, slowly building my passion into a reality and in turn a living.

The nature landscapes and scenery that surrounds us from the British fields to the wildlife sanctuaries is a massive photo resource for us all and is something that I plan on travelling and documenting as much of as I am able to in my life.

]]>My earliest inspiration in life came from wildlife that surrounded me in the British countryside and has developed into my biggest and most consuming passion alongside photography over the years, my work at London Zoo as a conservation officer only increased my desire to work and shoot alongside wild animals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates.

Ninjaprints image libraries on wildlife are extensive and constantly updated with new photographs of animals and wildlife habitats from across Europe from our wildlife parks, zoos, wildlife trusts and covers a range of our national wild life alongside more exotic animals and creatures.

Macro photography is a firm staple throughout our artwork sales galleries and covers a huge range of birds, reptiles including: chameleons, geckos, tortoises, frogs and toads as well as a range of insects from praying mantids to dragonflies and common bluebottles as well as exotic butterflies and moths.

Outside of wildlife parks it is often hard to find dangerous animals in our locale but you will also find some images of dangerous animals and primates alongside those of great apes in our image library.

Wildlife conservation is key to the survival of biodiversity across the world and species conservation is one of the most important things in the world to me, the following links are for organisations who work to protect our world.

]]>What is street photography?

Street photography is a method of documentary portraiture with a large focus on urban photography that crosses paths with many other types of everyday photography whilst capturing events and people in a way as to be presented as the photographers own social commentary of current events and life around them. Well at least it is to me!

A lot of street photography will often lean towards portrait galleries and candid photography of people going about their day-to-day lives, with some cross over into family photography and even pet portraits, news and documentary.

Pictures of streets do not need people present in them to be striking or artistic, the lack of people can be just as immersive as a busting photograph full of people rushing or bimbling about their daily lives. Often capturing a photo within photo whilst shooting street photography, it is incredibly easy to take pictures of streets only to later notice background events and characters bring to life the scene.

]]>Street Photography at its best! Working with a group of 5 superb female models and a vintage feel to the imagery I am seeking to provide a rare collection of one off prints the extreme in limited edition.

These prints will be available strictly as one per image, once they are gone they will be marked as sold and thats it, never to be sold again!

Based around the London area these shoots seek to capture a little of the city's spirit through my own eyes and interpretation with my models taking centre stage in the project.

Burn Eden

]]>The "Burn Eden" project is a new venture I started up in October 2010 based around capturing portraits of unique individuals with heavy body modifications or interesting characteristics or physical appearance.

The goal of the project is to capture about 20-25 different people and then produce a book publication based on the images along side an exhibition in which different pieces of each person are displayed with those of other people's, completing a whole using different body parts from each.

Images shown here are not necessarily for general release with the project and as such there are some real gems in the way of extremely limited edition prints available whilst the project develops.

]]>The "Undertone" project is a collaboration between myself and renowned London street artist Dbase.

We are hoping to inspire some upcoming and established graffiti artists and street artists to push the boundaries of their work and spread their wings a little.

Working together we hope to produce images, concept art, urban decoration and a printed publication along with some interesting time lapse reels.

]]>Abstract photography is a form of almost weird art or surreal art often created using everyday objects, architecture and materials used in strange ways to create artistic effects that can envisage some abstract pictures, abstract art is one of the most popular art forms.

An abstract photo can feature the turns and intricacies of a buildings structure to a close up shot using macro photography to show the intimate detail of a leaf, drop of water, lick of paint or even unusual patterning in an insects eye or carapace.

Many a photographic museum feature abstract photos from some unique and talented photographers who have used many different methods of abstract photography to create their own take on abstract art.

]]>"Missing Text" has already gone to print early in 2010 and is a visual walkthrough of street art in the city of Athens, lots of trips to the city were undertaken and there is such a rich swathe of incredible art there that it was very hard to choose from such diamonds.

Currently I am working on the development of a second edition of the book with an emphasis to improve the layout and presentation of the first.

Time Stands Still

]]>Still-life art has been around for as long as artists and photographers, it mixes into just about every possible concept of photography imaginable from dance photographers to fashion and sports photographers.

Still life photographs can often include objects, creatures or people in motion with the focus of the image being on a staged item or arrangement.

Often found throughout the work of vintage photographers, still life photography would often involve staging a shot for flower photography, fruit photography and sometimes water photography.

Creative photography with still lifes can often involve many different still life aspects to an image whilst breaking from the stage scenery of the past.

Landscape photographers have been noted to bring van loads of furniture with them to arrange incredible outdoors still life shots and include model photography into the concept, the models often being eclipsed by the surrounding landscapes coupled with a complete living room being set up in the great outdoors.

Still-life is one of the more variable types of photography around as there is no set theme of genre which must strictly be adhered to, anything and everything goes.
